Lucent Enterprise Networks Group, Tenovis Partner
Lucent Technologies' new Enterprise Networks Group, which will be spun off as an independent company later this year, announced an agreement with Tenovis to jointly develop Internet telephony solutions for the European market. The solutions will be based on technology used in Lucent's IP ExchangeComm, the first product in the IP Exchange Systems family of Internet Protocol (IP) communications systems for businesses. IP ExchangeComm is currently available in the United States.
Under the agreement, the new Enterprise Networks Group will license the programming source code for IP ExchangeComm to Tenovis. The companies will work together to adapt and localize these next-generation systems for use in European markets.
Using the IP ExchangeComm platform, which is based on open standards and commonly used programming protocols, the companies will develop solutions that can offer European businesses voice, data and multimedia communications on a single all-IP network.
